With over 13 years of experience, I have worked extensively with children, parents, and families. After obtaining a degree in social work, I first gained experience working with mentally ill adults. After a few years, I was missing the challenges in my work and my interest slowly shifted to working with children.
I began my journey working in a school as a social pedagogue and quickly realized that I needed more specialized training to effectively address the problems that children faced, as well as for the conflicts with each other and with the system they were exposed to.
Therefore I decided to start by training in systemic family therapy. After I realized that I wanted to go deeper and learn more, I applied for training in depth psychological psychotherapy to become a psychotherapist for children and adolescents.
Afterwards, I was initially employed at a large MVZ (day clinic) where I worked with over 60 physicians, psychiatrists, and therapists. While the experience of working as part of a team was enriching, I soon realized that I preferred to work independently. After about a year I found an opportunity to get my own practice in Bavaria.
While I was getting to know the first families, I was employed part-time in a rehabilitation clinic for children, adolescents and parents. There I learned additional solution-focused interventions. Three years later I also began training in Gestalttherapy, as this humanistic form of therapy excited me and was full of practical methods.
